Wildfire

Every now and then the universe smacks you sideways in reminder that we are small and insignificant in the greater scheme of things.

It is a wake-up call in many ways - a harsh reminder that we best not take anything for granted.

The forces of nature can be much more powerful than we can imagine. Our sense of safety built on shifting sand. Our defined reality crafted on make-believe foundation.

My life has experienced  unimaginable tragedy…losses of extraordinary proportion. While I chose to keep moving towards instead of running away, the toll was staggering.

I reflect on this with no regrets.

I am increasingly aware that there is a rhythm. Humility in the face of a greater power.
